Golfing
Golfing was introduced in Kashmir in the last century by Britishers. Kashmir offers magnificent golfing opportunities. The golf courses in Kashmir mesmerize the players by breathtaking beauty and environs. Creating world class infrastructure and facilities is the thrust are for government. Kashmir offers a unique opportunity to play golf all through summer- from April to November- in invigorating surroundings where the wind whispers through trees of chinar and pine.

Pahalgam has an outstanding 18 hole golf course. Nestled among pine trees this golf course provides splendid view to golfers. The golf championship is organized by state government and private hotels in summer also organize the championship.

Water Rafting
River rafting in Pahalgam is one of the latest attractions for modern tourists. This and other outdoor activities such as trekking, para gliding, skiing, mountain climbing are now being added as recreational activities in many adventure camps in mountain side hill resorts. Pahalgam is one such place in Kashmir which houses the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports located at Aru near Pahalgam.

Trekking
Pahalgam is a city in a district called Anantnag in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. It is situated at an approximate distance of 96 km from Srinagar. Pahalgam is also popularly known as Lidder Valley. Pahalgam has been considered as one of the most attractive hill resorts in Kashmir. Tourists get mesmerized with the beauty of this serene town. Since it is a famous tourist spot, it has several attractive sightseeing places like Amarnath yatra, Sheshnag lake, Panchtarni, Tarsar lake, Aru and much more. And also on the way to Amarnath cave up till Sonamarg can be trekked. The equipments required for camping are very easily available in Pahalgam. Another popular trekking route is from Sonamarg to Pahalgam and also routes towards Chandanwari and Sheshnag lake can be used for treks. Pahalgam is the base camp for several excursions and expeditions like Kolahari glacier, Sonamarg, Amarnath cave, Sheshnag and much more.
Ice Skiing
There are immense scopes for adventure tourism in Kashmir, of which ice skating is one of its kind. Winters in Kashmir valley are thrilling as the minimum temperature drop below freezing point. During winters, lakes of the valley transform into the sheer sheet of ice. Outdoor skating rinks are set up in frozen lakes and valleys of Gulmarg, Leh and Kargil in Kashmir where the skating lovers can assemble to either participate in the regional and national level competition or simply enjoy some fun times. The months of January and February are the best time to enjoy the activity in the valley of Kashmir. Skating lovers can get their own equipments for skating or else can hire from local shops at reasonable rate.
